Old Town Cottonwood is two miles from the house, and it is the reason a lot of guests stop driving to Sedona for dinner. The main street runs a few blocks, most of it walkable in an evening, and the cooking is better than a town this size has any right to expect.
Crema Craft Kitchen & Bar
Breakfast and lunch, good coffee, and the place to start a morning before you head out to a trail or a tasting room. Busy at weekends and worth the short wait.
Merkin Vineyards Tasting Room & Osteria
Wine from the estate and Italian cooking that takes the food as seriously as the wine, much of it grown locally. If you only do one meal in Old Town, this is the one we would pick.
Nic's Italian Steak & Crab House
Steaks and seafood in a proper dining room — the choice for a celebration or the night the group wants something more formal.
Colt Grill
Barbecue, casual, generous. Easy with a group and easy with children, which is a useful combination after a day out.
The Belfry
A bar in a converted church, and the most characterful room in town. Go for a drink after dinner rather than for the meal.
How this fits your week
- Old Town is about 2 miles from the house; the Verde Valley Wine Trail tasting rooms run from 2 to 10 miles
- Uptown Sedona is 23 miles — a genuine day trip, not a dinner run
- Dead Horse Ranch State Park is 4 miles and Tuzigoot 5, both easy to pair with lunch in Old Town
The house has a full kitchen and a heated pool with a hot tub, and plenty of guests eat in most nights and go into Old Town once or twice. Either way, y'all are close enough that nothing needs planning far ahead.
